After discovering he was a ‘big winner’ in the May 12 Lotto Max draw, Cambridge’s Kevin Pare decided to wait a few weeks to claim his prize.
That, he explained in a news release announcing his win, provided his family some time to think about what they’d do with their new-found funds — $301,827.
“We are planning to do some home renovations and go on a family vacation,” he said.
“Winning the lottery gives me financial freedom.
” The winning ticket was bought at the Pioneer gas station on Highway 25 in Milton. Pare attended the Ontario Lottery and Gaming prize office in Toronto on May 27 to collect his winnings.
